Pretty in Pineapple – Pineapple Fashion

Pineapples have been popping up everywhere in fashion. Even throughout the history of fashion from Stella McCartney’s Spring Summer 2001 Pineapple inspired swimsuits, to Mini Rodini’s pineapple clothes gracing the cover of Milk, to the Prairies de Paris Pineapple t-shirt that swiftly sold out.

Why is the pineapple print such a success? We think it’s because in March, Spring is officially creeping around the corner and we are in need of something sweet. Pineapples can’t grow without sunshine and are a symbol of sun and warmth yet to come. Yellow and green colorful pineapples are a beautiful and graphic fruit not only coming up all over fashion, but also on our walls and interiors. Who’s complaining? We are definitely not against a breath of freshness and humor and if you are not a pineapple lover, you can always fall back on the flamingo, another trend that is also popping up from last year!
