MOM’S CITY GUIDE – DE FAVORIETE ADRESJES VAN MELISSA

Iedere moeder heeft ze. Van die heerlijke adresjes waar je stiekem echt verknocht aan raakt. Want ook al is even wat spulletjes halen bij de H&M of snel lunchen bij de La Place nog zo leuk, er is echt niks leukers dan unieke café-tjes en bijzondere boetiekjes ontdekken. In deze nieuwe rubriek delen onze bloggers en lezeressen hun favoriete adresjes in verschillende steden. Van exclusieve speelgoed- en kinderkledingwinkels tot fijne lunchrooms en winkels voor mama, het komt allemaal voorbij! Vandaag is onze Melissa aan de beurt. Een echte mama met stijl die volop geniet van het leven!

FOOD
1. Wat is je favoriete restaurant?
De Harbour Club in Amsterdam. Top eten, goede sfeer en welkom naar kinderen toe, niet geheel onbelangrijk. Wekelijks ben ik hier toch wel te vinden. Maar ook Mchi op Ijburg is favoriet.

2. Even lekker lunchen met vriendinnen, dan ga je natuurlijk naar…
Palladium op het Leidse Plein. Het lekkerste broodje carpaccio (met extra truffel mayo) eet je hier en ook nergens drink ik mijn latte macchiato zo lekker. Maar ook Dr Blend is favoriet. Gezonde Juices, Smoothies, en broodjes, gelukkiger kan je me niet maken.

3. En voor een avondje cocktails drinken ga ik naar…
Suzy Wong. Mooie tent en echt overheerlijke cocktails. Deze mag je echt niet overslaan als je een avondje weg gaat.

4. Welke tentjes mag je echt niet overslaan tijdens een kroegentocht in Amsterdam?
Players, altijd feest!

FUN
5. Even uitwaaien en een frisse neus halen, waar doe je dat?
Voor een goede wandeling gaan wij altijd naar het Amsterdamse bos, en we pakken dan ook altijd de geitenboerderij voor Liv even mee. En oké, natuurlijk ook voor de overheerlijke pannenkoeken.

 6. Mijn favoriete vakantieland is…
Spanje! Wij hebben daar een huis, dus het voelt na al die jaren echt als thuiskomen. En geen geen gesjouw met spullen want alles staat daar, heel handig.

SHOPPEN
7. Offline of Online shoppen?
Online shoppen. Buiten het feit dat alle maten online vaker wel beschikbaar zijn en je in de winkel zelf misgrijpt, kan je ook meteen merkjes uit het buitenland mee pikken.

 8. Wat is de leukste winkel in Amsterdam?
Nou kan ik van alles opnoemen, maar eerlijkheid gebied mij te zeggen dat dat dan toch echt de Zara is. Slaag daar altijd en voor een leuk prijsje. Alhoewel ik de Nikkie store in de Cornelis Schuytstraat ook erg kan waarderen.

 9. Kinderkleding shoppen, dat doe ik bij…
Voor Liv bestel ik 99% online. Zara Kids, Orange Mayonnaise, etc en dol ben ik ook op de kinderafdeling van de Bijenkorf, veel leuke merkjes onder een dak. ideaal.

 10. En waar winkel je graag voor jezelf?
Buiten de Zara om natuurlijk ga ik ook graag naar River Island, Supertrash en de pop up store in de Reguliersdwarsstraat van Zoe Karssen. Helaas is die alweer gesloten maar bij de Bijenkorf kan je dit merk ook halen.

11. Wat is de leukste stad van Nederland?
Met stipt op 1 Amsterdam!

HOW TO SHOP ONLINE BOUTIQUES

Most of our pieces in our closets are from boutiques across the world. With the Internet, Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram giving us direct access to discovering these beautiful and unique shops- I have completely lost interest in the every day, ordinary shops. The different shapes and ways that art is utilized in clothing is such an inspiration! It is super unique and usually means it is coming from around the world. Here are some helpful tips to make online (and overseas) shopping easier.

1. Follow the brands you like on social media outlets to access exclusive flash sales they may post

2. Utilize their “retail locator” section on their website, they’re may be a store in your country or area that already carries the brand

3. Find a local friend to combine a purchase with so that you can save on shipping costs

4. Read their return and exchange policies thoroughly.

5. If you are worried about the size or fit contact the company before ordering to clarify. If you are still in doubt order the larger size. That way there is room for growth and you have options to roll the pants or sleeves to fake the fit. Versus if it is too small there isn’t much you can do and it may be to expensive to ship back.

6. Always make sure it is a secure site when you go to make your credit card payment.

7. If you are on social media:: For Instagram users a great way to see the pieces in action or finding someone who may know about the fit is searching the brand name under a hashtag “#”. For Facebook users a great way is to go to the brand’s page and post a question on it, you may be lucky enough to get a response from someone who has the item.
