Eén van de minste dingen van het naderende najaar vind ik toch wel het koude weer dat weer op ons staat te wachten. Maar het grote voordeel is wel dat we weer heerlijk kunnen gaan shoppen. Zeker als ik kijk naar de outfit van Noémi, daar word ik toch zo ontzettend blij van.

EEN FLINKE DOSIS TRENDS IN ÉÉN OUTFIT. EN IK SNAP HEUS WEL DAT DEZE OUTFIT NU NIET DIRECT HEEL COMMERCIEEL IS EN DAT HIJ ALLEEN VOOR DE ECHTE FASHION GIRLS GEDRAGEN WORDT.

Wij zetten de vijf kindermode trends uit deze outfit voor je op een rij. Kijk mee! 

Trend 1
De wollen jas, flink oversized en met hippe ruit. Ik heb toevallig vorige week ook zoiets voor mezelf geshopt en kan niet wachten om me erin te wikkelen en het koude weer te trotseren.

Trend 2De cropped jeans. Het rechte model jeans is weer helemaal terug en dan in de verkorte versie zodat je ook nog met die toffe sokken kunt showen.

Trend 3
De coltrui zie je ook weer terug in het straatbeeld. Ga jij voor de dunne variant die je los draagt of combineer jij de coltrui onder een sweater als “kraagje” ?

Trend 4
De canvas riem die ik vorig jaar op de catwalks al gespot had zijn gelukkig ook naar de kindermode vertaald! Deze vaak gekleurde riemen met merklogo stylen je outfit kek af.

Een blokruit of een klassieke ruit zullen de outfit van je kinderen lekker hip maken!

VELVET VOOR JONGENS, DAT IS PAS COOL!

Het mag duidelijk zijn velvet is here to stay deze winter! Jullie zullen voor je meiden vast allemaal los zijn gegaan in velvet kindermode de afgelopen tijd, maar zeg nu eens eerlijk! Dragen jullie zoons velvet?

WEDDEN DAT JIJ NA HET ZIEN VAN DEZE OUTFIT DEZE VELVET BOMBER VAN MINGO OOK PER DIRECT AAN DE GARDEROBE VAN JE ZOON WILT TOEVOEGEN! 

Combineren met deze bomber is ook een appeltje-eitje. Hij is namelijk zo stoer dat ‘ie niet veel extra’s nodig heeft; maar natuurlijk namen wij daar voor vandaag geen genoegen mee.  De mega toffe sweatpant voorzien van coole teksten is ook nog eens een eye-catcher.

Normaliter zeg ik altijd dat een outfit maar 1 key item nodig heeft, maar vandaag showt Xavier een key item outfit want ook het sweatshirt moet je even van dichtbij bekijken. You will love it!

SUMMER IS ALMOST GONE

As August flies by, it’s easy to feel a sense of melancholy. School will be starting before we know it. 

We start scheduling meetings in September, those calendar days looming closer and closer, and you realise that summer is almost gone.

I am looking forward to it in a way, but I’m also a bit sad that summer holidays are coming to a close.  

But it’s still possible to relish these last days, squeezing more joy out of the minutes.

Lianne is definitely enjoying those last days before she goes back to school.

THE ANIMALS OBSERVATORY - FW18

The Animals Observatory is the result of a love at first sight scenario between two people, Laia Aguilar and Jan Andreu. Having been a long-time admirer of Laia Aguilar’s work during her time as creative director for Bobo Choses, Jan Andreu proposed they join forces to found a new fashion brand for children. Jan Andreu has proved his incredible talent for business time and time again over the course of his career but The Animals Observatory project represents the realization of one of his dreams as an entrepreneur, and particularly as a parent. Laia Aguilar was the perfect choice of partner to make that dream a reality. She sees children’s fashion as an artistic tool through which she can express her own extraordinary world.

The Animals Observatory FW18 collection features a lot of knitwear, gorgeous sweatshirts and T-shirts in a relaxed and over-sized style, jackets, bombers, overalls and accessories.

Forget the skinny jeans and slim-fit shirts: baggy style is back, and in a big way.

RUBBLE KINGS

This new editorial by Ahmed Bahhodh is inspired by Rubble Kings. From 1968 to 1975, gangs ruled New York City. Beyond the idealistic hopes of the civil rights movement lay a unfocused rage. Neither law enforcement nor social agency could end the escalating bloodshed. Peace came only through the most unlikely and courageous of events that would change the world for generations to come by giving birth to hip-hop culture. Rubble Kings chronicles life during this era of gang rule, tells the story of how a few extraordinary, forgotten people did the impossible, and how their actions impacted New York City and the world over.

About the photo-shoot:

A popular tourist destination due to its sheer beauty Amersfoort as a city has been greatly preserved since the middle ages and with a fantastic range of historical buildings the City center is one of the most picturesque in the Netherlands.

It’s also a great location for photo-shoots, and Ahmed didn’t have to think twice when I asked him to come to Holland. It was a great day and i think this shines through in Ahmed’s wonderful work.
