ANIMALESQUE BY SARA LOWES

I have had these handmade costumes bookmarked for a while and when Florence said she wanted to be Peter Rabbit for World Book Day I was thrilled. Now I had the excuse I needed to order from Animalesque and when her costume arrived both Florence and I were so pleased with it.

Animalesque is a London-based company founded by the wonderfully talented Sara Lowes. She has used her creative expertise in textile design to create these beautiful, playful animal costumes and accessories rich in colour and texture bringing childhood play to another dimension.

The Animalesque collection includes owls, rabbits, squirrels, badgers, cats and another one on my wishlist is the dynamic fox costume.

I am utterly enchanted by the vision Sara Lowes has created and I know Florence is excited to wear her costume again this coming Easter Sunday for our big egg hunt.

PRIX DE DIANE - HATS

Yesterday we had a little break from the big city and spent our Sunday at the Prix de Diane Longines in Chantilly, a twenty minutes trainride from Paris. Our second time at this big event. We love it! I wore a nice but simple hat (especially compared to some others) and had lots of fun people watching with my husband, Alexander and some friends. Pick nicking with heels, hats and bubbles is something else!

Not only do hats serve a great fashion purpose like for this event, but they are also serve a practical purpose as well. We often find ourselves spending a lot of time outdoors during the summer months. From backyard BBQs and gardening, to festivals, holidays, and trips to the pool, the summer heat can definitely get the best of us. The summer heat can be harmful, so it’s important to protect your head and face from the hot heat of the sun. Wide-brimmed hats are especially popular during the summer for this very reason.
