Budget shoppen

Een voordeel van het online speuren, is dat je zo heerlijk op je gemak kan kijken en vergelijken. En ongestoord. Vooral dat.  Niet bang te hoeven zijn dat mijn kind de benen neemt en onderste boven van de roltrap gaat. Ik bestel dus graag, vaak en veel maar daar zit natuurlijk ook een limiet aan. Helaas heeft mijn put wel degelijk een bodem en klik ik regelmatig op het woord Sale in de menubalk. Genoeg items die je in het najaar of de winter kan combineren. Maillot eronder, vestje er overheen, hoppatee. Let er wel op dat het geen te zomerse uitstraling heeft, anders pakt het juist averechts uit. Maar combineer het met de nieuwe najaarskleuren. Of juist ton sur ton. Zo kun je met een klein budget een hele leuke outfit shoppen.

Moments | Life on Two Wheels

It had been discussed for awhile, the kids needed new bikes. D had been pushing around on his balance bike for a couple of years, and M's secondhand bmx was getting way too small. Luckily M  had been doing some modelling work and earned up money that she wanted to spend on a new bike, and little brother had patiently been waiting for a big boy bike, so we thought let's just do it all at once. It took a couple of visits to different bike stores before we finally found two bikes that were perfect for the kids age and size.

M picked a 20" Holly bike, which is a mix between a classic girls bike and a beach cruiser bike. We loved the fact that it had a sturdy frame and wheels but still had a girls touch to it with its pale blue tone and flowers. D went straight for a 16" bmx bike with training wheels (really no need for those, since he has already got the balance but the novelty of training wheels made us keep them on for a while).

So when Sunday came around it was a day out side and on two wheels for the whole family (even Dad J tagged along on the scooter). We were lucky with the weather which offered sun after a morning of rain, so after a few hours of biking we all could enjoy a rest at a beach cafe, with lunch and ice-cream for a work well done.

I know we still have a while to go with this summer but right now it feels like an indian summer. Friday has finally come up and another 37c is on the menu. The weekend and the rest of the week also looks like a big sunny smorgasbord, so we are simply hanging out in as little as we possible could wear.

Here are a few photos from last weekend - a quick trip to a lunch hangout on the coast. This weekend we are planning on driving a bit further and hitting one of our favourite beach spots on the peninsula. They got the best little seafood restaurant and a wonderful little bay to swim in. Have a lovely weekend everybody!

It's been hot in Melbourne, very hot! The air conditioner has suddenly become our best friends and the beach has quickly become the only sensible place to cool off in the long running heatwave. 5 days in a row with temperatures over 40c has felt like something of a record and I don't think we have ever visited the cinema as much as we have this school holiday. To sneak into a dark, cool room and watch some movie magic has been a great get away. I also had some time to go though my holiday snapshots and found these of M, enjoying a quiet morning moment on the porch of our holiday get away cabin.

Top BOY / GIRL outfit

Het weer wordt langzamerhand een beetje grauwer, maar met zo’n set als deze straal je toch! Het blauw fleurt je zoon helemaal op. De bruine muts en schoenen maken de outfit af. Toch wat lekkere kleuren voor de donkerdere dagen. De  muts is van American Outfitters en is te shoppen bij Orangemayonnaise. Zo kan je zoon lekker warm de koudere dagen in gaan.

Voor dochterlief hebben we voor een set met rode, paarse en bruine tinten gekozen. Lekkere warme kleuren! Het rokje kun je met verschillende kleuren tops combineren en daarbij ook weer een leuke legging/maillot. We hebben gekozen voor het bordeaux rode shirt van Emile et Ida. Een meisjesachtige outfit,  je maakt hem stoer door er een paar laarzen onder te dragen!

Annika the owner of Orange Mayonnaise wraps the best looking parcels and it is such a treat to open up your shopping.
