On our way to Bright we decided to stop by one of the oldest wineries in Australia - Tahbilk winery.Established in 1860, Tahbilk is one of Australia's most beautiful and historic family owned wineries. Located in the Nagambie Lakes region of central Victoria (120kms north of Melbourne), one of the nation's premium viticultural areas. Tahbilk is now home to 5 generations of winemakers.

It was a perfect stop over since we had been in the car for an hour and the kids were eager to stretch their legs. On the grounds there is also a wonderful cafe/resturant that has a beautiful scenery of the Gouldburn River. Here you can sample some of the vast array of different wines produced here and dine on fine food. It is a perfect place to bring children since there is plenty of space and the menu offers food options for kids as well. After we had topped up on food and drinks we visited the old wine cellar. The kids were amazed with all the old things they saw and our daughter couldn't get enough of the amazing seemingly never-ending dark cellar. Here you saw rows after rows of old wine barrels stacked with labels like Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Marsanne and 'old block' Cabernet.

We explored the cellars for a while, purchased some bottles and joined their wine club before we set off on our road trip towards Bright.

JBM STYLING // AUTUMN

Het is oktober en nog steeds mogen we genieten van een fantastische nazomer! Terwijl bij ons de winterjassen al aan de kapstok hangen, worden iedere ochtend steevast de korte mouw shirts nog uit de kast getrokken.

Ik ben klaar met de zomer outfits en weiger dan ook pertinent dat de korte broeken nog de plek gaan innemen van de mooie nieuwe broeken voor winter.

Stokken verzamelen in het bos

Na Guus zijn peuterschool ochtend gingen we samen naar het bos. Stokken zoeken, en konijntjes spotten. Gewoon even ravotten en rennen met z’n tweeën.

Ik hoop dat het weekend nét zo zonnig wordt!.

Weekend review

Moments | Sunday Sightseeing

The wind was teasing us this weekend with colder and then warmer winds. We rugged up and visited the baywalk to view the ironman spectacle that was taking place this Sunday. The kids had fun on their scooters and climbed the palm trees with natural monkey skills. You can feel Autumn gently moving in and you can sense a change is coming very soon. Not sure if I am ready for winter yet. Somehow it feels harder for each year. You wish the summer months would last longer, but for  my family and friends over in Europe I wish they will have a taste of warmer weather soon. Hope you all had a lovely weekend out there and are ready for a new week…

Bring it on !

This has felt like the worlds longest week actually. The first week back to school after a two weeks break always feels a bit rough. It is funny, at the end of a school holiday I am pretty sure most parents are secretly wishing a bit of routine is coming back into the picture but then when you got it back you sort of wish the lazy mornings would stick around a bit longer. M has had an intensive swimming program in school, which means swimming everyday for 2 weeks. She also has started back in swim school so some days she has to hop in the pool twice in one day. This little girl amazes me though, no complaints and only a big smile on her face. You would think she would be tired at the end of a school day, but no, she runs out to play with friends. If I only know how to harness an ounce of that energy she has I would be set!

D is also back in his swim class, and like a lightning from a clear blue sky he just decided to swim with minimal floating assistance. Ever since he realized that you can actually end up under the surface if you don't move your legs and arms (I know...who knew!?) his fear of "going under" seemed to have disappeared. So nice after a lot of "I don't want to go to swim school!!". It feels good to have the little people ready for the beach and some fun in the waves this summer. We are so ready!! Bring it on :)  Have a lovely weekend out there!
