FASHIONSHOOT NUNUNU - SKULL EN YOGA

De SS18 collectie NUNUNU is weer met veel enthousiasme ontvangen. Een urban coole collectie met een veelheid aan prints, borduursels, stoere items en een gave coole kleur.

Bovendien presenteert NUNUNU voor hun lente- en zomercollectie 2018, kunstenaar Shay Id Alony. De samenwerking tussen de Israëlische kunstenaar, geïnspireerd door mythologische figuren en Afrikaanse stammen, en het designer-duo achter NUNUNU geeft de SS18 collectie sterker dan ooit die alternatieve kijk op kinderkleding waar NUNUNU voor gekend staat.

Shay Id Alony en de designers achter NUNUNU leerden elkaar kennen in 2014 op een tentoonstelling waar de titans werden voorgesteld: zeven houten mythologische figuren, geïnspireerd door de Afrikaanse kunst. Op dat ogenblik wisten Iris en Tali dat een samenwerking met NUNUNU voor de hand liggend was.

Het is dan ook de Israëlische kunstenaar die de doodshoofd print ontwierp voor de SS18 collectie. Voor het eerst worden deze doodshoofden niet alleen geprint, maar ook geborduurd, wat de collectie een eigenzinnig en opvallend karakter geeft.

Overigens wordt de samenwerking met Shay Id Alony benadrukt door een tweede print die dit seizoen in de kijker staat: de braille-print.

En dus kozen we natuurlijk voor de Skull print. Maar op welk item. Hij is er namelijk in vele varianten. We kozen voor de yoga overall in de kleur poederroze. Een top item voor al die zomerse dagen die er gaan komen. Jawel, als we de weersverwachting mogen geloven wordt het eindelijk mooi weer. Eindelijk! En kunnen dus eindelijk al onze zomeritems uit de kast getrokken worden.

Nog even een fijn weetje: de yoga overall bevat drukknoopjes aan het broekje. Luiers wisselen gaat dus gemakkelijk! Ook daar heeft NUNUNU over nagedacht.

Beau is 18 maanden en draagt maat 2-3y. Nu nog lekker ruim, maar even groeien en de broekspijpjes gaan zo cute poffen.

LIEBE BERLIN – LEARNING TO LET GO

My eldest boy turned 13 last week. I’m not sure how that happened. It seems like just yesterday I was carrying him on my hip, hunching down to kiss the top of his straw-coloured hair. These years seem to fly by in a blur of skinned knees and unmade beds. When my son was young, I was so invested in every minute of his life that it sometimes felt as if his moments were mine as well — his first step, his first lost tooth, the first word uttered from his unspoiled lips. As a parent I celebrated honor roll or when he made it onto a coveted sports team with as much fervor as if I myself deserved the congratulations. I called family and friends to share the news, these announcements that marked my child’s life. When they are small, there is a visceral sense that you somehow own these moments too, these points in time that mark someone else’s life.

Then suddenly your child reaches an age when you realise these moments were never yours to begin with, though I guess I knew this all along. You have your children for such a short time, and at some point they reach an age where the time you do have seems to accelerate with a hastiness I was unprepared for. I was the one who was there for it all though, the one who will be able to recall each memory with such detail should he come looking for them someday.

At 13 my son spends more and more time with his friends, some of whom are changing. I am trying hard to keep up; to become familiar with these people my son now hinges on. I know how important these friendships will become for him. How crucial his selections will be for all of us. Though I’ve done what I can to prepare his for life and love and the world that lies in front of him, these friends will be the ones by his side as he navigates that world for the next several years. They are now the beneficiaries of his attention.

As quickly as their world shifts, so does yours. You go from spending every minute with your child to jockeying for position in their busy social calendar. Suddenly these moments, the ones you collected and proudly shared involve you less and less. You begin to hear about the important milestones through hushed whispers behind closed doors and in between giggles over the phone.

The sudden realization dawns on you that your child does not need you as much as they used to and for the life of you, you cannot pinpoint the exact moment that occurred. You try to stay close to keep them safe but also give them the room to figure out who they are. You find yourself in an inimitable position of being able to watch the person they are becoming. And it is magical. This person who you love more than anything in this world, for whom all those moments have been collected.

Someone once told me the hardest part of raising children is raising them. But right now it feels like the hardest part is letting go.

RED VALENTINE

TOP 15 ROOD IN KINDERFASHION & LIFESTYE

Net als vorig jaar, gingen we ook dit jaar op zoek naar  Rood!  Valentijnsdag komt er weer aan en dus zul je deze week op IG, FB en andere media overspoeld worden met  alles wat met de liefde te maken heeft. We gingen op zoek naar rood in de kinderfashion & lifestyle. En dat was dit jaar eenvoudiger dan vorig jaar.

Hoewel rood geen hoofdkleur is dit seizoen, zie je deze kleur wel meer en meer terugkomen in verschillende gedaantes. De nadruk ligt hierbij vooral op Coral rood, een ietswat doffe, vale kleur.  Geen fel rood dus dit seizoen maar vintage rood. Nou ja, eigenlijk kan alles, van knalrood, tot abricot,  tot coral.

En toen besefte ik dat we thuis nog geen rood in de garderobe hebben! Gemiste kans. Ja, want rood is een kleur die je draagt. Die jou draagt. Rood geeft zelfvertrouwen. Rood staat voor lef.

Tijd om zelf ook op zoek te gaan naar rood deze zomer.

 De sweatpant in de mix voor boys gaan deze zomer het straatbeeld compleet veranderen. Als jij als mama nog steeds denkt dat het alleen voor sport is, probeer dan vanaf nu deze broeken eens als fashion items te zien.
