This is the new GREY collection by SUSAN BIJL.

 This special collection celebrates the versatility and complexity of the achromatic shades that sit between black and white. ‘Grey’ also marks an important step in the eternal quest for improved sustainability, as it will be our first collection that replaces plastic packaging with paper.

Born from the wish to make a collection in a monochromatic palette, ‘Grey’ offers all the Susan Bijl's well-loved products in a range of grey tones. Grey is a very important colour, often seen in a supporting role to make other colours shine due to its contrasting power. With this collection, they put Grey in the lead and in the foreground, showing that the grey tones are beautiful on their own and among themselves.

With names like ‘Tornado’, ‘Fog’, ‘Smoke’ and ‘Dew’, designer Susan Bijl again finds inspiration in nature and its complex, yet subtle colour shades. Out of this love for nature and the environment, they always seek to reduce our ecological footprint, and therefore we are very happy that this collection will be the first one with all the plastic packaging replaced by paper.

‘Grey’ will offer the popular The New Shopping Bag, The New Bum Bag, The New Backpack, and The New Raincoat in all new colour combinations or in a solid tone.

DE DENIM OVERALL: SPECIAAL VOOR MEIDEN KLEURRIJK GESTYLED

Niet alle meiden (en hun moeders) willen eraan: de denim overall of dungaree. Het excuus is dan meestal dat ze het te jongensachtig vinden.

Maar met deze outfit willen we het tegendeel bewijzen. Als je hem zo ziet, is hij toch ook meer dan fantastisch voor een meisje? Ik word zo blij van die opvallende kleurtjes. Die trui is vooral heel tof als je hem ook nog eens oversized draagt onder de overall. Die sneakers ben ik persoonlijk enorm fan van. het is dat ze er niet in mijn maat zijn, want anders had ik het zeker wel geweten!

Het tasje zou ik voor je dochter in een maat Small nemen, maar wist je dat je deze tas dus ook gewoon voor jezelf kan bestellen? Dan zou ik een medium of een large aanraden. Supergaaf toch ook voor jezelf zo’n opvallend tasje? Ik loop al met een exemplaartje rond hoor. Top tassen zijn het! ook de shoppingbags van Susan Bijl kunnen wij van harte aanbevelen.

BACK TO SCHOOL

De scholen in Rotterdam gaan bijna weer beginnen. Hoogste tijd voor een ‘Back to school’ wensenlijstje!

DOE 'GROEN' MET DE DESIGNTASSEN VAN SUSAN BIJL

Ontwerper Susan Bijl zet zich al tien jaar in om de plastic soep in te dammen. Haar nieuwste tassencollectie is dan ook kleurrijk, maar vooral ‘groen’.

De tas gaat maar liefst acht jaar mee en is daardoor bijzonder duurzaam.

Een vrolijke bedoening
Het uitgangspunt voor de 24 nieuwe kleurencombinaties van haar tassen is het zogenoemde RGB-kleurensysteem, dat staat voor rood, groen en blauw. Deze basiskleuren leveren in verschillende verhoudingen andere kleuren op, zoals geel, roze en lichtblauw. Wit, zwart en grijs behoren ook tot de mogelijkheden. Et voilà: dan heb je acht tinten om een nieuwe collectie mee in te kleuren. In totaal is de Suus-tas in meer dan 200 verschillende varianten te krijgen.

Nee bedankt, ik hoef geen plastic tasje
De tassen zijn gemaakt van ripstop nylon, een lichte stof waar vliegers ook van worden gemaakt. Hierdoor zijn de zogeheten New Shoppingbags stevig én waterbestendig. Helemaal praktisch: ze zijn tot een piepklein formaat op te vouwen zodat je ‘m zonder moeite overal mee naartoe kunt nemen. Kom maar door met die zware boodschappen.

Preparing Your Child for La Rentrée

French schools do not provide all school materials. At the very youngest age you will need to purchase nothing. With the increasing maturity of your child, however, you will be expected to provide anything from pencils and crayons to exercise books and textbooks. When your child gets to secondary school (college) or high school (lycée) the costs mount.

You are not always given the list of items required during the summer holidays. Some schools wait until the first week of school, hence the panic…

What we do know is that all of these items will  need to fit into a backpack, big enough to take larger than A4 books….
