Friday offered warmer weather and lots of sun. M had a day off school so it was the perfect day to take both kids and grandma and grandad and spend outside. It was such a wonderful day and we couldn't believe that it was as warm as 19C, being August it is normally still Winter time so it was such a nice change. We threw rocks in the water, built rock towers, spotted big ships on the horizon, rode on scooters and had lunch in the sun. It was a nice promise of what is to come soon… Spring !

Out in Nature

Moments | Nature is the Best Babysitter

It is almost a routine now. The kids seem to crave sand between their toes and even though there is a great playground 20 meters away, both  of them seem to prefer the pulling forces of the ocean and the dunes that invites to jumps and play. I love how both of them seem to be on the same page when it comes to the beach, they are the best of friends when it is just them and nature, and mum and dad here doesn't mind nature being the babysitter at all!

Holiday outfit

Summer Days mix & match

Vandaag was er duidelijk sprake van summer days in Tokyo. Met bijna 30 graden stond er een bezoek aan de Meiji Jingu tempel op het programma. Er was vandaag een lente-festival met traditionele Japanse muziek en dans. Prachtig om te zien, maar met die warmte en de enorme drukte, hadden we het helaas iets sneller gezien dan we gedacht hadden.

Noémi had vandaag haar Bobo Choses rokje aan waar ik in juli vorig jaar, tijdens Playtime Parijs, op slag verliefd op was geworden. Ik ben dan ook erg blij dat het ook één van haar favoriete rokjes is. We hebben hem gecombineerd met een top van Mói met een ontzettend mooie print. Van een afstandje lijken het ovalen, maar als je dichterbij kijkt, zie je dat het allemaal vliegende raven zijn. Omdat het zo warm was, maar ook omdat ze haar Toykyo Kids cap zo stoer vindt, moest die vandaag natuurlijk ook op. Zelf heeft ze hem omgedoopt tot haar “the voice kids”-pet. De wit-turquoise-roze gekleurde Nike’s die Noémi draagt, hebben we van de week hier in Tokyo gekocht. Ik heb deze nog niet in Nederland voorbij zien komen.

Ik wilde haar er eigenlijk ook nog dé trend van hip Japan aantrekken vandaag, maar een meisje van 5 blijft een meisje van 5 en ze wilde dat dus echt niet! Jammer, want persoonlijk vind ik de old-school-witte-sportsokken trend die hier nu overal te zien is, stiekem wel helemaal te gek. Waarschijnlijk daarover binnenkort nog meer op JustByManon!

CAPS !!

Pick of the day: stoere caps

Een stoere cap kan een outfit net dat beetje extra geven. Hier in huis hebben we er dan ook meerdere. Fijne bijkomstigheid is dat het ook nog eens het hoofd van je kind beschermt als de zon volop brandt. Bij ons is een cap helemaal handig, omdat een zonnebril en een echte bril elkaar nou eenmaal vaak in de weg zitten.
