It is long weekend over here, with Melbourne Cup day on Tuesday most kids have the day off on Monday as well, so this weekend we are enjoying a 4 day off treat. The good weather continues and here are a few photos from yesterday when we got to enjoy some sunshine and water play. Since both kids had a cold this week we didn't think to bring swimwear but that didn't seem to stop the kids (as you can see). Hope you are enjoying your Sunday

A fun trip to the Museum of Modern Art from the other weekend. We have never visited this place before and we were so pleasantly surprised with the wonderful garden, sculptures and not to mention the museum itself. This time around we just visited the outside grounds and the cafe, but we are planning to back really soon to visit the great exhibit that is now on by Fiona Hall.

The big grounds are covered with fun sculptures that the kids are allowed to explore close up, and it has the most beautiful little corners with the best climbing trees, and at the moment all the kids seem to love building big piles of leaves and jumping in them and since it is full on Autumn here, there is plenty to go around! We were also fortunate to see a praying mantis up close which was such a treat because they truly are amazing looking insects.

The kids also enjoyed the arts and craft corner where they could create their own art and bring home with them. Next time we will bring a picnic basket and enjoy a whole day there with the grandparents!

More gorgeous Autumn weather and a chance to take off the warm layers and get some climbing in, in the afternoon sun. I think I got a bit of a tree climbing monkey on my hands. There are some great trees for climbing quite close to us and when ever he can, D wants to go there and climb. There are seemingly no fear of heights in this one because he insists on going higher every time. I was just the same when I was little but I am getting back some of my own parents predicaments since I have to admit it makes me nervous to see him high up. We played tree pirates with stick swords, and our ship/tree was the best one of them all.

I hope you are enjoying a great Mother's Day out there (if you are a mum) and don't forget to spoil your own mums ( if you are fortunate enough to have them with you in life ) while you are at it! Love you Mum xx.

Independence has happened over night. Like a tiger it has sneaked up on us from nowhere and our 3 year old seem to have turned into a little independent spirit over night. No pram rides anymore only a little guy and his bike. Here is a few photos from one of the many bike rides we are doing lately.
